GIS Coordinator: The Campbell Group  (As of 2008, the largest timberland investment manager in the nation.) Field office - Fort Bragg, CA.  Same tasks as GIS Specialist listed below with the addition of supervising staff GIS Specialist.  Manage office wide Arc GIS  license pools.  Perform complex and detailed, high level spatial analysis along with accompanying documentation and report generation.  The coordination of departments to document, organize and publish office procedures.  March 2010 - Current Position

GIS Instructor: College of the Redwoods:Mendocino Coast Campus- Fort Bragg, CA.  Natural Resources class NR65 "Introduction to Geographic Information Systems".  A 3 unit, university transferable science class.  Lecture and lab format, using Arc GIS 9.3.  Developed and taught the GIS curriculum to 22 students.  Spring  semester 2010.

GIS Specialist: The Campbell Group  Field office - Fort Bragg, CA.  Working for a variety of departments including; Botany, Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife, Engineering, Inventory, Silviculture, Archaeology, Hydrology, Geology, Acquisitions/Disposals, Administration, Operations and Upper Management.  Update, maintain, and integrate spatial and non-spatial data into the Arc GIS environment and associated company databases.  Digitize from; paper maps, USGS Quads, DOQs, and air photos.  Review and edit existing and incoming data for accuracy, usefulness, quality, and documentation.  The presentation of GIS data, including decisions of; cartographic elements, scale, and the addition of images, graphs, tables, and overlays to be included in mapping projects.  Develop and perform spatial analyses in Arc GIS with Model Builder.  Design standardized symbology sets for in-house and contractor GIS users.  Train field crews to collect GPS information using Arc Pad, and integrate data into the GIS.  Confer with users and supervisors to trouble shoot problems, and develop system or project requirements and goals.  Train and instruct staff employees to use Arc GIS.  Supervise and mentor GIS Technician.  Coordinate with other field offices for assistance, establish consistency, and share knowledge. Earned The Campbell Group's "GIS Award of Excellence"  in 2004.  Office events committee chairman since 2004.  Leadership team member since 2008.   Sept. 2002 to March 2010

GIS Technician
:
Geographic Resource Solutions.  Arcata, CA. Confer with GIS analysts to develop project strategies & protocols.  Digitize from DOQs, update GIS layers and databases, and run line work checking processes.  Projects include; railroad right of way work in Ohio, sidewalk locations in Redondo Beach, CA, and forest cover retyping in South Carolina.
